2018-2023 TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN - DRAFT ONE

ISLAND TRANSIT’S FARE POLICY REMAINS UNCHANGED.

Last Friday, June 22, 2018, the Island Transit Board of Directors convened for the regularly scheduled monthly business meeting and reviewed more than 850 comments received through June 21, 2018 in response to the proposal to implement fares on Island Transit fixed and paratransit services.  These comments were received through public meetings, online survey responses, emails, letters, and through a public hearing.  Following a review of public comments, a motion to consider implementing fares was considered and failed with a 2-3 split vote.  As a result, Island Transit’s fare policy will remain unchanged.
